When one of the smartest guys in the world is sitting in your conference room, it’s hard to tell him “less is more.”
But
our 20 years of experience (or “observation and documentation of
results” as the scientists would have it) has proven it to be true. The
astrophysicists of the University of Chicago's Center for Astrophysical
Research in Antarctica were on a mission (aside from the one involving
magnetic resonance and the origins of the universe): to secure the
$2,000,000 in grants necessary to continue their research at the bottom
of the world. On Track’s mission: to understand the hearts and minds of
the people who controlled the grant money and to translate CARA’s
incredibly complex research into something consumable by and inspiring
to an audience that is not made up of astrophysicists.
When
we learned that the postcard and bookmark designs we developed to
fulfill this mission were to be displayed at a conference by NASA, we
knew we had hit the mark. As a result, CARA secured their funding and
returned to the ice, and the world is now a little smarter about the
beginning of, well, everything.
