Cataloging hundreds of dental drill bits and diagrams is a feat of information architecture.

One that On Track focused on so completely, our teeth hurt. For the first time in Dentsply’s history, all of these products were being compiled into a single, highly technical catalog. Not only did we have to make the drill bits look good, they needed to be organized in such a way that outlined the nearly infinite variety of tools on offer without overwhelming the dental professionals with too much information.

Our work created a template that was used across a series of catalogs for Dentsply, the leading manufacturer and supplier of dental instruments. Each page featured an application diagram (created by On Track) that showed a particular drill bit in use. The easy-to-read, easy-to-follow catalog made life a little better for everyone; the dental professionals, Dentsply’s sales force, and even On Track. Having an intimate knowledge of those drills makes getting into the dentist’s chair a breeze. We’re also now privy to a little know fact: Diamonds are a dentist's best friend too.
